I wanted to add a little special touch to my daughter’s graduation blanket. So I added her brother’s hand and name. I hope she likes it.
What do you think?
Graduation Block # 6 is of a weight to symbolize when my daughter was in power lifting. Graduation Block # 7 is a heart to symbolize how much I love her.
Want to make the heart? You can find the pattern here.
Graudation Block # 8 will be coming out later today with instructions.
If you want to see the other Graduation blocks you can look here.
WIP: Finished another block of my daughters graduation afghan. It is the drill team boots and hat. She did it for a year in high school. I couldn’t find a pattern and with the curves didn’t fill like trying to do the graph thing, so I decided to embroidery it. I thought it came out ok. I realized I still have a ton of work to do, going to have to start working a bit faster on it!
Family Tree: Worked more on my family tree today. I have over 9,000 hints to work through. The more I find the more there is, but that is a good thing!
TV Series: On Season 3 Episode 19 of Criminal minds.
House Work: Put some dishes away and then quickly got tired of doing house work! Ugg there is always tomorrow!
Graduation Block # 2 I choose a Trumpet. When Dom was in 5th grad she begged me to let her play trumpet. I told her if I bought her a trumpet she had to play till she graduated. I am proud of her for playing an instrument and for doing as well as she did on it. A little disappointed she quit at the start of her senior year, but I enjoyed watching her play while she did.
I also took pictures of the two blocks together so you can see what they will start looking like. I will need to get some green yarn since her school colors are green and gold.
My daughter is graduating this May and although she is not interested in the family tree, I still want to give her Family Tree books as a Graduation Gift. I was going to do one large book, and then try to sell copies to go along with her copy. I decided not everyone is going to care about all sides of her family as she is.
So I am going to create 5 mini books and then make those 1 large book for her. I will use her grandparents generation as the start of the mini books. I am was hoping to sell them for 25-30 dollars each. I know it wont create a huge amount of money but any little bit to help her pay for college will help.
I plan on getting a binding machine at the end of the month to put the books together (I really want one for myself…)
I plan to start each chapter of the book with the ancestor chart, followed by their family group sheets, any documents I locate and photos that I can find.
I hope it is something she will treasure for life!
