I finished another block for my daughter’s graduation blanket. It is of a football since she spent so much time on the football field as a band marcher and a drum major. I thought it was a good addition to the blanket.
Only a few more blocks to go!
This one was not an easy one! I shed some tears wanted to end the whole project. I took a deep breath and finished it! I really like how it looks and think it will pull the blanket together perfectly. It says Dominique but the photo mixed the I and Q together. What do you think?
I had a ton of things in my head, I wanted to accomplish today, but even though the list is short, I am still happy with the results. I will just try to accomplish more tomorrow.
Things Accomplished Today:
- Finished the Black Circular Vest. I will take pictures tomorrow. I wanted to mail it tomorrow too but forgot the post office is closed.
- Finished the graph for my daughter’s crochet afghan and plan to finish the block tonight or tomorrow.
- Spent time with my husband, son and father today. Took my husband and my son to dairy queen for lunch followed by a couple of hours at the park. Then went to Whataburger for dinner.
How was your Friday?
I have connected all the finished blocks so far. Still have a ways to go, but I am feeling accomplished at the moment. I am adding a special surprise block to the bottom that I think will be special for my daughter (an outline of her brother’s hand).
Have you made a graduation blanket for your child, if so share a picture or link to it below.
You can see the graduation blocks up close with the following links.
Graduation Block # 2 I choose a Trumpet. When Dom was in 5th grad she begged me to let her play trumpet. I told her if I bought her a trumpet she had to play till she graduated. I am proud of her for playing an instrument and for doing as well as she did on it. A little disappointed she quit at the start of her senior year, but I enjoyed watching her play while she did.
I also took pictures of the two blocks together so you can see what they will start looking like. I will need to get some green yarn since her school colors are green and gold.
Health: I think I caught a stomach bug from my son. His went away within 48 hours so I am hoping mine will be gone by Monday. Thursday I go in for a doctor’s appointment and for my daughter’s first baby doctor visit. Hopefully I will get out of my boot and her appointment will go great!
Craft: I have about 10 more rows and the outline to finish my daughters next block to her afghan. Hopefully I will get the pictures of it taken and the pattern up tonight. If not it will definitely be posted tomorrow. My husband’s niece found out recently she is pregnant too, so her theme for the baby if it is a girl will be sugar skulls. So I will be getting yarn and will start on making things for her theme. I figure if she ends up having a boy I will just sell the items I make for her.
Family Tree: Posted a status here and I realized how much I still need to do for the 1st chapter of each of the 1st books. I’ll work more on it tomorrow but happy with the results from today.
TV Series: I am on Season 3 of 11 of Criminal Minds. Since I slept till 9am this morning, I am sure I will get several episodes watched tonight!
Hope you had a great Saturday!
Graduation Cap : Symbolizes my daughter graduating.
Yellow Tassel and Back ground: Symbolizes my daughter graduating with honors.
I am so proud of my daughter for graduating with honors. It is not an easy task, but she accomplished it.
I wanted to make her a blanket to honor all her achievements and success. I am really happy with how the first block came out!
