Archer County Rodeo 2017, dancing, Joey Michael Moore, Mutton Bustin', Rodeo, sheep

Saturday we had a fun family day and started it out with the Archer County Rodeo Parade.  My son came home with more candy from this small parade than he did for Halloween!  He was super excited over the Rodeo Royalty on horses!!

We decided to try him out doing the Mutton Bustin’.  If you are unfamiliar with this it is where the kids ride sheep.  At first he said he didn’t want to do it, but I am not the good parent that accepts no.  So we went to the sheep and it took a lot of trying to get him to pet the sheep.  I believe they are twins, but a girl and boy really helped him get used to the sheep.  I am forever grateful to these two for the kindness they showed my son.

After watching several children ride the sheep first my son was ready to go.  His first ride was .66 seconds, so I was really proud of him!  He cried when he first fell off and at first I thought he was hurt, but it turned out it was more his pride than the physical pain.  You can see the video on You Tube, please click the link below.

Joey Michael Moore – Mutton Bustin’

While he was crying one of the Rodeo Queens walked over to talk to him.  After she finished talking to him, they high fived and he was smiling once again.  Then he asked me if he could do it again!! (This was a proud mommy moment)

They play music during the rodeo and my son couldn’t stand (or sit) still.  Here is just one of the many videos of him getting his dance on!  You can watch it on You Tube too, please click the link below.

We bought tickets for the Bowie Rodeo and hoping we can make it this weekend!

Hope you had a great weekend!

CRAFTS, house, Journal, journal update, kidney stones

I haven’t updated in awhile because it seems my life is in slow motion and nothing is coming together very fast.  I have lots of doors surrounding me, but not sure which one will unlock first.

Husband Update:

He is still having pain from his kidney stone and yesterday we went to see the doctor.  He said it is still to big to pass and he has to go back in to have it blasted again.  I hope it works this time!

Dad Update:

Dad found out his motorcycle is about to be totaled.  We had planned to get a house together, but he was not able to get a VA loan since he had to many bills.  So I suggested that after they finish totaling the bike he try again for a VA loan.  Yes, my real intention is to keep him off a bike for as long as possible.  This is his second accident and I don’t think he needs to be on another one!  I am completely tapped out so if he asked me to do it I would have to decline!

House Update:

We wanted to buy the house right next door to my aunt.  It would need a ton of work, but located by my aunt was a great location.  The woman selling sounded very interested in selling it, but when I talked to her this past week she decided she was in no hurry to sell.  It could be today she decides for 5 years from now.  This option is lowest on the list.

If dad chooses a house over a motorcycle than we will move back by him, but he is to much about have a bike that I don’t think he will pick a house, so I am putting this option low on the list too!

The other option is to rent up here and continue paying off bills and saving money and buy something up here.  I would need to pay off the place my dad is living before I could buy anything by myself.

Crafts:

I haven’t started anything new recently.  I just keep buying craft items with no real direction.  I am thinking maybe I have to much uncertainty in my life to be to crafty.  I am hoping the inspiration will come back, but till then I will surf other people’s craftiness until I find my own again!

Cotton Patch, kidney stones, lemon, Wichita Falls

I am a day late posting, but yesterday was a crazy start to the month!

Kidney Stones:

Last month, the day before my vacation started, my husband got deadly ill and I had to take him to the Emergency room.  His right kidney had swollen to twice it’s normal size due to a kidney stone that had caused a severe infection from being too big.  They put a stint in between the kidney and the bladder with the hopes it would help pass the kidney stone.

Unfortunately that did not work so we had to go back to the doctor yesterday to get the kidney stone in the right kidney blasted.  My husband said it made him feel so much better, but now he feels like he has been in a fight and lost.  Now we wait for all the little pieces to pass and hope the kidney stone that he has in the left kidney passes too.

I was told to have him use lemon and limes in his water to help dissolve them.  I do not know if it will work, but going to try it anyways.  I told him we needed to work on eating and drinking healthier to assist in preventing this from happening in the future.

Cotton Patch Restaurant in Wichita Falls, TX

After my husband was released for the hospital we were extremely hungry so decided to try out a new restaurant.  We went to the Cotton Patch Restaurant in Wichita Falls, TX.  The service was pretty good and the food was home-style cooking.  We enjoyed it and the price was right.  Was under $28 for both of us.  It will definitely be a place we go to again in the future.

Birthday, birthday lottery cakes, cakes, lottery cakes, styrofoam

I learned a major lesson last month, communication is key!  Make sure what you sell is clearly posted with very good description and to ask if someone has a photo of what they want!

I posted the graduation lottery cake I did on a few local Facebook selling groups and offered to make and sell for any occasion.  A lady contacted me and said she wanted more of a girly one.  So I went and got the supplies and made 3 different lottery ticket cakes.  She let me know that was not what she wanted so finally I asked for a photo.  She sent it to me and then it clicked she wanted a real cake.

Lesson learned but still had a great time making the lottery cakes.  What do you think?
